This BLS government app shows how the value of the US dollar has changed between any two dates from 1913 to 2019. It uses data released on June 12, 2019 and covers through May 2019. The next US inflation update happens on July 11, 2019. It will include inflation data through June 2019.


April 2014 US Inflation

Consumer prices in the United States rose sharply in April and the rate of inflation sped up over the last 12 months, a U.S. Labor Department report released Thursday, May 15, 2014, shows.

November 2013 US Inflation

Consumer prices were unchanged overall in November as lower gas offset price increases in other goods and services monitored by the government, the US Labor Department reported Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

October 2013 US Inflation

Consumer prices settled lower in October for the first time in six months, the latest data from the US Labor Department shows. The bureau on Wednesday, November 20, said the Consumer Price Index, or CPI, fell 0.1% last month after rising 0.2% in the prior month.

September 2013 US Inflation

Consumer prices rose about as expected in September, based on the latest figures from the US Labor Department and what economists’ had forecast. The Consumer Price Index, or CPI, increased 0.2% last month after rising 0.1% in August.
